Isabelle at twelve months old. Just after her birthday I took a series of photographs which made me wonder what goes through the mind of a baby who's becoming a young child — it's easy to assume that they have little thought other than which toy to play with, or when their next feed is, but there is a thoughtfulness in the photos that really struck me. At times she appears to have a tinge of melancholy in her expression, wondering perhaps what this world around her has in store.
